Georgia Addiction Treatment Alumni Community

At Georgia Addiction Treatment Center, we are striving to be a leader and a resource in our community. We work with a number of other treatment centers, non-profits, hospitals and foundations in order to have the most impact in our fight against substance abuse.

We are also committed to being a resource for every individual who has come through our care, as well as their families and loved ones. Our alumni board holds events on a regular basis, to help us build a community around those who are living in recovery, building and strengthening the connections among us.

Our alumni are real people living recovery every day. We want to share with every individual the fulfillment and peace we have found, and be a resource long after you have left our care.

  • Intervene Challenge, Save Someone’s World: Presented by Ken Koon
    08:30 -12:30
    2019.09.20

The South Metro Atlanta Mental Health Professionals Network will be offering a free, 4 credit CEU event hosted by GATC. Anyone may attend.

This event offers several delivery methods for raising awareness and gaining skills for suicide intervention.

Suicide takes more than 45,000 lives in the US every year. Professionals are the last line in defense when it comes to mental health crisis, which is why it is important to raise awareness and train individuals from all walks of life in the skills that can save lives.

Listen-Learn-Lead© (L3) is the primary curriculum in the Intervene Challenge. L3 is typically a five hour in class training developed by US ARMY Chaplain (LTC) Kenneth Koon based on his work in conducting more than 1,000 successful suicide interventions in both military and civilian communities.
